On Saturday, 14 February 2026, athletes will gather in Kosciuszko National Park

AAA XTRI consisting of:

  • SWIM: 3.8km – Lake Jindabyne is a breathtaking freshwater lake located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. It is one of the largest reservoirs in the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme and sits at an elevation of 918 meters.
  • BIKE: 187km – The 180km bike course from Jindabyne Village to Perisher Village winds through the breathtaking Snowy Mountains. A 30km climb begins from the Alpine Way junction. The route culminates at the high-altitude finish in Perisher Village, after over 3,000m of elevation gain
  • RUN: 42.2KM – This 42km run of the Snowy Mountains Extreme Triathlon is a relentless alpine test, climbing rugged trails, snow-dusted ridges, and frigid air. Athletes battle steep ascents as you fight against exhaustion and the elements in one of the nation’s toughest endurance races

3.8 km Swim (12-15C) . 187 km bike (+3851m) . 42.2 km run (+818M)

Few have tackled the spectacular ascent to the top of Kosciusko, but the challenge, atmosphere and reward are well worth the effort. Make the journey as an individual or as a team with friends and family! ALL participants who reach the top and return in the AAA Extreme will receive the legendary ROCK OF PAIN. Are you up for the climb of a lifetime?

  • 80KM TRAIL RUN – This run take you to the top of Australia! The 80km run starts at Perisher Valley (elev 1764m) then takes you through Smiggins Hole and onto Guthega. With stunning views of the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in Australia and the steady climb to top of Australia…Mount Kosciuszko summit. It’s then a quick 10km descent back to Charlottes Pass and victory! Start location – The Stables Resort Perisher at 8am
  • 55KM TRAIL RUN – This trail run will challenge your stamina. Starting 9am at The Stables Resort, Perisher Valley (elev 1,752m) running along Mt Kosciuszko Rd, through Smiggins Hole heading towards Guthega. Challenging peaks and throughs along the way. and the steady climb to top of Australia…Mount Kosciuszko summit. Then a 9km “dash” to the finish line.
  • 27KM TRAIL RUN – An easy 27km in the amazing snowy mountains! The 27km trail run in the Snowy Mountains of Australia is a challenging and breathtaking adventure that takes you through some of the most stunning and remote landscapes in the country. Starting at Perisher Valley and passing through Smiggins Hole then Guthega and steady climb to  the highest point of the race at 1,894m, then back down the mountain toward the finish line.

These events traverse some of Australia’s most scenic yet demanding terrains, testing the limits of endurance and resilience.
