Snowies Alpine Walk Transfers at The Stables Resort

A fully supported alpine walking experience with daily transfers and luggage support, exclusively for guests staying at The Stables Resort Perisher.

For hikers planning to summit Mount Kosciuszko or tackle the full Snowies Alpine Walk, The Stables Resort Perisher offers the ultimate “walk light” solution. Our Snowies Alpine Walk Transfer Package is a fully supported logistical service designed exclusively for guests staying at the resort, bridging the gap between rugged wilderness exploration and luxury comfort each night.

The Snowies Alpine Walk is a world-class 56km multi-day hike traversing the roof of Australia within Kosciuszko National Park. The full itinerary includes the iconic summit of Mount Kosciuszko at 2,228 metres above sea level, Australia’s highest peak, along with glacial lakes, historic alpine huts, and sweeping mountain ranges. While traditional hikers carry heavy packs and camp overnight, our guests experience every one of those highlights without the burden of heavy equipment.

The difference: by using our daily transfer service, you tackle challenging Grade 4 terrain by day and retreat to a warm, self-contained apartment in Perisher Valley each night. No car shuffles, no camping logistics, just the walk.

Summiting Mount Kosciuszko: The Highlight of the 5 Day Package

Standing at 2,228 metres, Mount Kosciuszko is the highest mountain in mainland Australia and one of the Seven Summits. Reaching the top is a genuine bucket-list moment, with 360-degree views stretching across the Snowy Mountains as far as Victoria and the NSW South Coast on a clear day.

The 5 Day Snowies Alpine Walk Transfer Package includes the Mount Kosciuszko summit via the Main Range Walk, widely regarded as the most rewarding way to reach the top.

The Main Range Walk to the Summit

DetailInfo
Distance22km loop
Time7 to 9 hours
GradeGrade 4
Starting pointCharlotte Pass
Key highlightsBlue Lake, Seamans Hut, Mount Kosciuszko summit

The Main Range Walk departs from Charlotte Pass, which our team transfers you to each morning. The trail passes the Ramsar-listed Blue Lake (Australia’s only true glacial lake), the historic Seamans Hut, and a series of dramatic alpine ridgelines before reaching the summit trig marker at the top of the continent.

It is a significantly more immersive route than the shorter Thredbo chairlift approach, and it forms the centrepiece of Day 3 in the 5 Day itinerary. After completing the loop, we collect you from Charlotte Pass and bring you back to the resort to rest, refuel, and prepare for the next day’s section.

You don’t need to be a mountaineer. The summit is a walk, not a climb. What you do need is solid fitness, appropriate gear, and the confidence that comes from not having to carry a full pack.

We offer two distinct transfer itineraries to suit your schedule and walking ambitions. Please note that these prices cover transport logistics only; accommodation at The Stables Resort must be booked separately.
