Where is The Stables Resort Perisher located?

The Stables Resort is located at 20 Candle Heath Road, Perisher Valley, NSW 2624, in the heart of Kosciuszko National Park. We’re approximately 280 metres from the Perisher Ski Tube Terminal and 400 metres from the Perisher Centre and Village 8 Chairlift, making us one of the most conveniently positioned on-mountain properties in Australia.

Is The Stables Resort open year-round?

Yes. We are open all year. In winter (roughly June to September) we cater to skiers and snowboarders, while the warmer months offer a stunning alpine escape for hikers, nature lovers, and those simply looking to unwind in the Snowy Mountains. The Snowies Alpine Walk Transfer Package is available outside the winter season for guests tackling one of Australia’s most iconic multi-day walks.

How many apartments does the resort have?

The Stables Resort has 33 self-contained apartments across a range of configurations to suit couples, groups, and families. All apartments are designed to blend contemporary luxury with the surrounding alpine environment.

What types of accommodation are available?

What facilities and features are included in the apartments?

Apartments vary by type, but resort features include:

Please note: Bed allocations are strictly governed by Kosciuszko National Park (KNP) regulations. Maximum occupancy is specified on each apartment’s listing page and cannot be exceeded.

Are pets allowed at the resort?

No, pets are not permitted at The Stables Resort Perisher.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

  • Check-in: 4:00 pm
  • Check-out: 10:00 am (strictly observed)

If you arrive earlier than 4:00 pm on your check-in day, you’re welcome to store your luggage with us and head straight to the slopes. Likewise, on your departure day, we can hold your luggage so you can enjoy one final ski run before heading home.

What days can I arrive and depart?

Due to our location within Kosciuszko National Park and our oversnow transfer operations, arrivals and departures are only available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays during the winter season.

The available stay lengths are:

  • 2 nights: Wed to Fri, or Fri to Sun
  • 3 nights: Sun to Wed
  • 4 nights: Wed to Sun
  • 5 nights: Fri to Wed, or Sun to Fri
  • 7 nights: Sun to Sun, Wed to Wed, or Fri to Fri

Please note: Tuesday check-ins are not available.

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

Yes. A minimum stay of 2 nights applies. During July and August, a minimum stay of 3 nights applies.

Do you take deposits?

Yes. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to arrival.

Please note: A 2% transaction fee applies to all payments made via online payment links.

Is daily housekeeping included?

No. The Stables does not provide daily in-room housekeeping as part of a standard stay. Consistent with alpine lodge-style accommodation, rooms are serviced before arrival and after departure only.

If you require additional servicing during your stay, this can be arranged for an additional charge. Please speak with reception in advance to organise this.

Can I check availability before booking?


How do I get to Perisher Valley?

Perisher Valley is approximately a 30-minute drive up Kosciuszko Road from Jindabyne. The Stables Resort is located at 20 Candle Heath Road in Perisher Valley.

Can I drive directly to the resort in winter?

No. The National Parks and Wildlife Service does not permit overnight parking in Perisher Valley during the winter months. You will need to park at the free, secure car park at the Bullocks Flat Skitube Terminal on the Alpine Way (the road to Thredbo) and take the Skitube train into Perisher Valley. Return Skitube tickets are required and can be purchased at the terminal.

What are the complimentary oversnow transfers?

We provide complimentary oversnow transfers between the Perisher Skitube Terminal and The Stables Resort on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 8:00 am until the last scheduled Skitube service.

  • To arrange your check-in transfer, please call Reception on 0477 010 138 in advance.
  • Departure day transfers from the resort are available from 8:00 am.

Are there daily skier transfers once I’ve checked in?

Yes. We run complimentary daily skier transfers for in-house guests:

  • Morning shuttle: 8:00 am – 10:00 am
  • Afternoon shuttle: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

What if I need an oversnow transfer outside complimentary hours?

Outside our complimentary transfer windows, you can arrange oversnow transport through 4site Transport at the Skitube Terminal at your own expense. Phone: 02 6412 2244.

How far is the resort from the ski lifts?

The resort is approximately 400 metres from the Perisher Centre and the Village 8 Chairlift. It’s about a 5-minute walk, or even less if you ski down.


Is there a restaurant at the resort?

Yes. The Stallions Restaurant and Bar is located on-site and operates exclusively during the ski season, reopening each year from late June through to September. In 2026, the restaurant opens on 29 June.

If guests would like to dine elsewhere within the resort, oversnow transfers are available. Transfers for groups of up to 4 guests are $50 each way, while groups of 5 or more receive complimentary transfers.

What are the restaurant’s opening hours?

The Stallions Restaurant and Bar is open six days a week, closing on Tuesdays. Happy Hour runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm daily, making it the perfect spot to swap stories after a day on the mountain.

Dinner: 5:30pm-9pm
Bar: 4pm-Late

Do I need to book a table?

Yes. Dinner bookings are essential. We recommend reserving your table in advance via the online booking link. Please note that online bookings cannot be made within 30 minutes of service. For a late reservation, call 0477 010 138.

Can I get takeaway from the restaurant?

Yes. Takeaway options are available for all in-house guests from The Stallions Restaurant and Bar. To order, scan the Bopple QR code located on your apartment’s refrigerator.

Is the restaurant open in summer?

No. The Stallions Restaurant and Bar operates during the ski season only. Guests staying outside the winter season will find fully equipped kitchens in all apartments, and there are dining options available in Perisher Valley and the surrounding area.

Please note: There are no dining options in Perisher outside of Winter. Only the Stillwell Hotel in Charlottes Pass. More choices in
Jindabyne.


What ski and snowboard terrain is available at Perisher?

Perisher is Australia’s largest ski resort, with over 1,200 hectares of skiable terrain spread across four interconnected resort areas: Perisher, Smiggin Holes, Guthega, and Blue Cow. There is terrain for every ability level, from beginner runs to challenging black diamond trails, as well as terrain parks for freestyle riders.

Is Perisher suitable for beginners?

Perisher Valley transforms into a spectacular alpine destination during the warmer months. Popular activities include:

What is the Snowies Alpine Walk?

The Snowies Alpine Walk is a multi-day hiking trail through the Snowy Mountains, widely regarded as one of Australia’s most spectacular alpine walks. The Stables Resort offers an exclusive Snowies Alpine Walk Transfer Package for guests, providing daily drop-offs, pick-ups, and luggage support so you can walk light and return to comfort each evening.

Two package options are available:

  • 5 Day / 4 Night Transfer Package
  • 3 Day / 2 Night Transfer Package

This package is available outside the winter season and exclusively for resort guests.

Is the resort involved in any events?

Yes. The Stables Resort Perisher is the Official Host Venue of the 2026 Australian Alpine Ascent (AAA), a major alpine endurance event held in the Snowy Mountains. Find out more about the AAA 2026.

The Ultimate Ski Weekend Package is designed for groups and includes:
